Atlas?

My forecast: the most valuable use of humanoids isn’t cheap labour — it’s expensive art. Not a mover, but a performer. Not a worker at a conveyor, but a celebrity millions come to watch.
Over the weekend, at halftime of the Brazil–Norway World Cup match, it wasn’t a human who walked onto the New York stadium pitch. It was a robot. Boston Dynamics’ Atlas crossed the field, reproduced the goal celebrations of Haaland, Kane and Son — the very goals the whole world replays on a loop — and handed the ball to the referee to restart the second half. Tens of millions in the stands and on screens weren’t watching a factory. They were watching a show.
Remember that image. It isn’t about football. It’s about where humanoid robots are actually headed. And it’s exactly what I’ve been saying for a while.
Someone will say: a one-off stunt, a Hyundai ad. The opposite. Hyundai bought Boston Dynamics outright and is building an Atlas plant in Georgia — 30,000 robots a year by 2028. This isn’t a one-night attraction. It’s the first public appearance of a mass-market product. And the first thing that product did in front of the world wasn’t assemble a part on a line — it danced Haaland’s goal celebration.
When people hear “humanoid robot,” almost everyone pictures the same thing: it’ll show up at a warehouse, stand at a machine, haul boxes and mop floors. Cheap labour that replaces a mover for a couple of dollars an hour.
I’m convinced that’s a mistake. Here’s why.
The factory doesn’t like the human form. Two arms, two legs, a head, a hinge at the waist — that’s an evolutionary compromise for “surviving the savanna,” not “assembling 500 parts an hour with zero defects.” Where you need speed and precision on a line, a specialized machine always wins: a robotic arm that performs one motion perfectly and forever; a conveyor tuned to a single product. It’s cheaper, faster and more reliable than any humanlike robot. A humanoid on a conveyor is like harnessing a ballerina to carry sacks.
The humanoid is the most expensive and most complex form of robot. Spending it on what a simple arm does cheaper is economic folly.
The answer is simple: the human form is for humans. Not for parts — for us.
For millions of years we’ve learned to read another person: how they move, keep a rhythm, celebrate, meet your eyes. The humanoid is the only form of robot that lands in that built-in “receiver” of ours. We don’t know how to be moved by a robotic arm. But we freeze when a humanlike being does a backflip, dances to music, or reproduces your favourite footballer’s celebration.
Note a detail almost everyone missed. Atlas was taught those moves through retargeting — technology that maps a living human’s motion onto the robot’s body. Engineers literally captured how Haaland celebrates and “dressed” a machine in it. All the expensive guts of a humanoid — balance, reinforcement learning, thousands of simulations — are tuned for one thing: to move like a human, to move humans. It’s not a work tool. It’s an attention tool.
Let’s do the math — I’m an entrepreneur, not a dreamer.
A mover-robot competes with a human who’s cheap. Its ceiling of value is the wage of the worker it replaced. Putting a $30,000 humanoid there makes no sense: it takes years to pay for itself and still loses to a narrow machine.
Now the performer-robot. It competes not with a mover, but with a celebrity. A single Atlas appearance at the World Cup was seen by tens of millions — an advertising contact brands pay millions of dollars for. Unitree’s dancing robots on Chinese TV’s New Year gala pulled an audience the biggest stars could only dream of. Such a robot recoups even its steepest price — not because it saves on wages, but because it produces attention. And attention today is the most expensive commodity on the planet.
A factory robot saves pennies. A celebrity robot earns millions from attention. That’s the difference between a cost and an asset.
The whole idea in two lines:
— As a mover, a robot is worth what it saves.
— As a performer, a robot is worth the attention it gathers.
Attention scales to millions of viewers. Mopping floors doesn’t.
I’m not fantasizing. While everyone debates when the robot reaches the warehouse, robots have already stepped into the spotlight — as performers:
Here’s my list of professions where I see the humanoid first: musician, host, showman, dance / yoga / martial-arts coach, entertainer, stage performer. All of it is work with people, not parts. Work for attention and emotion.
Someone will say: MILAGPT builds software AI assistants, not steel robots. What does a dancing Atlas have to do with it?
Everything — because the vector is the same. I don’t build MILAGPT as “cheap labour that replaces a human for less.” I build AI partners and helpers for people: a nanobot-friend who remembers your life and speaks your language; a business worker who guides a client and answers around the clock. Their value isn’t that they’re cheaper than an employee. Their value is in relationship and attention: always there, always attentive to the human.
It’s the very same fork as with humanoids. You can build a robot as a cost — to save money. Or you can build it as an asset — to create value through connection with people. I always choose the second. In hardware and in software, the future belongs to robots that work for people, not in place of cheap labour.
The robot of the future isn’t a silent mover in a workshop. It’s a performer, a partner, a companion, a coach. The one people come to for attention, emotion and mastery. The factory goes to narrow machines. The stage, the gym and the human heart go to the humanoid.
My forecast in one line: the first truly mass-market humanoid won’t be a worker — it’ll be a star. It steps onto a stage, not a conveyor. And it earns not by being cheaper than a human, but by millions of people wanting to watch it.
That’s exactly why I build both steel robots and our digital nanobots by one law: value through relationship with the human, not through cheap labour. Let the grind stay with simple machines. The humanoid was made for more.

Mening bashoratim: gumanoidlarning eng qimmatli qoʻllanishi arzon mehnat emas, balki qimmat sanʼat. Yukchi emas — artist. Konveyerdagi ishchi emas — millionlar tomosha qilgani keladigan selebriti.
Dam olish kunlari Jahon chempionatidagi Braziliya — Norvegiya oʻyinining tanaffusida Nyu-York stadioni maydoniga inson emas, robot chiqdi. Boston Dynamics’ning Atlas roboti maydonni kesib oʻtdi, Xoland, Keyn va Sonning gol nishonlashlarini — butun dunyo qayta-qayta koʻrayotgan oʻsha gollarni — takrorladi va ikkinchi taymni boshlash uchun toʻpni hakamga uzatdi. Oʻn millionlab odam tribunalarda va ekran oldida zavodni emas, shouni tomosha qildi.
Shu manzarani yodda tuting. Gap futbolda emas. Gap gumanoid robotlar aslida qayoqqa ketayotganida. Va men allaqachon aytib kelayotgan narsa aynan shu.
Kimdir aytadi: bir martalik tomosha, Hyundai reklamasi. Aksincha. Hyundai Boston Dynamics’ni butunlay sotib oldi va Jorjiyada Atlas uchun zavod qurmoqda — 2028-yilga borib yiliga 30 000 robot. Bu bir kechalik attraksion emas. Bu ommaviy mahsulotning birinchi ommaviy chiqishi. Va bu mahsulot butun dunyo oldida qilgan birinchi ish — konveyerda detal yigʻish emas, Xolandning gol raqsini ijro etish boʻldi.
“Gumanoid robot” deyilganda deyarli hamma bir narsani tasavvur qiladi: u omborga keladi, stanok yoniga turadi, quti tashiydi, pol yuvadi. Yukchini soatiga bir-ikki dollarga almashtiradigan arzon ishchi kuch.
Men bu xato ekaniga aminman. Mana nega.
Zavod inson shaklini yoqtirmaydi. Ikki qoʻl, ikki oyoq, bosh, belda boʻgʻim — bu “savannada omon qolish” uchun evolyutsiya murosasi, “soatiga 500 detalni nuqsonsiz yigʻish” uchun emas. Tezlik va aniqlik kerak boʻlgan joyda doim maxsus avtomat yutadi: bitta harakatni mukammal va abadiy bajaradigan manipulyator-qoʻl; bitta mahsulotga moslangan konveyer chizigʻi. U har qanday insonsimon robotdan arzon, tez va ishonchli. Konveyerdagi gumanoid — balerinaga qop tashitgandek gap.
Gumanoid — robotning eng qimmat va eng murakkab shakli. Uni oddiy manipulyator arzonroq bajaradigan ishga sarflash — iqtisodiy ahmoqlik.
Javob oddiy: inson shakli odamlar uchun kerak. Detallar uchun emas — biz uchun.
Biz millionlab yil boshqa odamni “oʻqishni” oʻrgandik: u qanday harakatlanadi, ritmni ushlaydi, nishonlaydi, koʻzga qaraydi. Gumanoid — bizning shu ichki “qabul qilgichimizga” tushadigan yagona robot shakli. Biz manipulyatordan hayratlanolmaymiz. Ammo insonsimon mavjudot salto qilsa, musiqa ostida raqsga tushsa yoki sevimli futbolchimizning nishonlashini takrorlasa — biz qotib qolamiz.
Deyarli hamma eʼtibor bermagan tafsilotga qarang. Atlas bu harakatlarni retargeting — tirik insonning harakatini robot tanasiga koʻchiradigan texnologiya orqali oʻrgandi. Muhandislar Xolandning nishonlashini tom maʼnoda “suratga olib”, mashinaga “kiydirishdi”. Gumanoidning butun qimmat ichki qismi — muvozanat, mustahkamlash orqali oʻrganish, minglab simulyatsiya — bitta narsaga moslangan: odamdek harakatlanish, odamlarga taʼsir qilish. Bu ish quroli emas. Bu eʼtibor quroli.
Keling, hisoblaymiz — men tadbirkorman, xayolparast emas.
Yukchi-robot arzon turadigan inson bilan raqobatlashadi. Uning qiymat shifti — u almashtirgan ishchining maoshi. U yerga $30 000 lik gumanoidni qoʻyish foydasiz: u yillab qoplanadi va baribir tor avtomatga yutqazadi.
Endi artist-robot. U yukchi bilan emas, selebriti bilan raqobatlashadi. Atlasning Jahon chempionatidagi bitta chiqishini oʻn millionlab odam koʻrdi — brendlar bunday reklama kontakti uchun millionlab dollar toʻlaydi. Unitree’ning Xitoy telekanali yangi yil galasidagi raqsga tushayotgan robotlari eng yirik yulduzlar orzu ham qila olmagan auditoriyani toʻpladi. Bunday robot hatto eng qimmat narxini ham qoplaydi — maoshdan tejagani uchun emas, balki eʼtibor ishlab chiqargani uchun. Bugun esa eʼtibor — sayyoradagi eng qimmat tovar.
Zavod roboti tiyin tejaydi. Selebriti-robot eʼtibordan millionlab pul topadi. Bu — xarajat bilan aktiv oʻrtasidagi farq.
Butun fikr ikki qatorda:
— Yukchi sifatida robot qancha tejasa, shuncha turadi.
— Artist sifatida robot qancha eʼtibor toʻplasa, shuncha turadi.
Eʼtibor millionlab tomoshabinga kengayadi. Pol yuvish esa — yoʻq.
Men xayol surmayapman. Hamma robot omborga qachon yetib borishini muhokama qilayotganda, robotlar allaqachon sahna nuriga chiqishdi — aynan artist sifatida:
Men gumanoidni birinchi boʻlib koʻradigan kasblar roʻyxatim: musiqachi, boshlovchi, shoumen, raqs / yoga / jang sanʼati murabbiysi, animator, sahna artisti. Bularning bari — detallar bilan emas, odamlar bilan ishlash. Eʼtibor va hissiyot uchun ishlash.
Kimdir aytadi: MILAGPT temir robot emas, dasturiy SI-yordamchilar yaratadi. Raqsga tushayotgan Atlasning bunga nima aloqasi bor?
Aloqasi shuki, yoʻnalish bitta. Men MILAGPT’ni “insonni arzonroqqa almashtiradigan arzon ishchi kuch” sifatida qurmayapman. Men odamlar uchun SI-hamkor va yordamchilar quraman: hayotingizni eslab qoladigan va tilingizda gaplashadigan nanobot-doʻst; mijozni yetaklaydigan va tunu kun javob beradigan biznes-ishchi. Ularning qiymati — xodimdan arzon boʻlgani emas. Ularning qiymati — munosabat va eʼtiborda: doim yoningizda, doim insonga eʼtiborli.
Bu — gumanoidlardagi aynan oʻsha ayri yoʻl. Robotni xarajat sifatida — tejash uchun qurish mumkin. Yoki uni aktiv sifatida — odamlar bilan bogʻlanish orqali qiymat yaratish uchun qurish mumkin. Men doim ikkinchisini tanlayman. Temirda ham, dasturda ham kelajak arzon mehnat oʻrniga emas, odamlar uchun ishlaydigan robotlarga tegishli.
Kelajak roboti — sexdagi jimjit yukchi emas. U — artist, hamkor, suhbatdosh, murabbiy. Odamlar eʼtibor, hissiyot va mahorat uchun keladigan zot. Zavod tor avtomatlarga qoladi. Sahna, zal va inson qalbi esa — gumanoidga.
Bashoratim bir jumlada: birinchi haqiqiy ommaviy gumanoid ishchi emas, yulduz boʻladi. U konveyerga emas, sahnaga chiqadi. Va insondan arzon boʻlgani bilan emas, millionlab odam uni tomosha qilishni xohlagani bilan pul topadi.
Aynan shu sababdan men temir robotlarni ham, raqamli nanobotlarimizni ham bitta qonun boʻyicha quraman: qiymat — arzon mehnat orqali emas, inson bilan munosabat orqali. Mashaqqatli mehnat oddiy avtomatlarga qolsin. Gumanoid kattaroq narsa uchun yaratilgan.
Bashoratlar, ishga tushirishlar, MILA tokeni, yangi maqolalar va ishtirok takliflari — asoschining kanalida.
